The ‘Healthcare Technology Innovation Center’ is perceived to be a research and incubation center for healthcare researchers, entrepreneurs and students to meet in dynamic situations to accelerate healthcare advancements and usher collaborative program to create a holistic healthcare startup ecosystem.
Problem Statement
In India, advancements in the field of Healthcare are at the highest rate. The Covid19 pandemic has accelerated the medical advancements in the form of Healthtech and MedTech. However, there is a huge gap between the innovators and the market due to lack of funds, resources and low business agility. Hence, it is important to streamline the requirements of the healthcare professionals and design infrastructure suitable for the innovative ecosystem to thrive and bridge the gap between the market and the innovators.

‘HealthTech Innovation Center - Research Center and Startup Incubation Center for healthcare technology’.
Objectives
• To increase transparency between healthcare professionals and start-up entrepreneurs to commercialize medical innovations.
• To create research spaces and laboratories abiding to the latest medical technologies.
• To provide intelligent infrastructure, services and guidance for Healthtech and MedTech entrepreneurs.
• To design Experience Museum facilitated with Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality to educate general public and students of the medical advancements and human health systems.
Design Process

User Research
The Government of India has introduced several policies to adhere to the StartUp ecosystem, specifically healthcare and medical device parks through StartUp India, Skill India and Make in India initiatives.
The qualitative research consisted of understanding the current scenario of healthcare startups and enterprises in India and their impact on the Healthcare professionals. A structured questionnaire was shared amongst medical entrepreneurs, professionals and students to understand their views on the universal HealthTech trends. 37 Participants responded.




DESIGN METHODOLOGY

Central core oriented architecture. The central core should be the common node to access the three blocks - Labs, R&D offices and exhibition showcase spaces.
Use of north light. Planning efficient diffused south and west light. Using site features as a backdrop for relaxing office environment. Segregating private and semi-private areas through buffer spaces.
Implementing open floor plan - increase team collaboration, promote knowledge exchange, improvement of creative flow. Designing atriums with the structure, providing visual connectivity to all work areas.
